Kappa Konversation
Chester Alumni hosted its first town hall meeting at Chester High School to discuss the problems that plague the Chester community. Leading the discussion was Program Director Colby “Colb” Tyner of Radio One’s Philadelphia branch and stations 100.3 FM and 107.9 FM. Tyner guided the discussion between a range of panelist including Mayor Wendell Butler, of Chester, entrepreneur, Brother Rafiq Al-Fareed; Chester High School Principal, Keith Arrington; Wyncote Elementary School Principal, Crystal Clark; and Brother Stephen Lewis, head coach of Strath Haven High School basketball.
The panelist discussed the Major League Soccer Stadium slated for the Chester community and the impact of the new facility on the surrounding areas. Social Action Chair, Brother Ken Fennal is looking forward to growing and expanding the town hall meeting in the coming years.
Kappa Khristmas
December 13, 2009: Kappa Khristmas-Shiloh Baptist Church, Chester, PA.
'Twas the week before Christmas, when all through Chester, they knew we were coming...The Kappas Are Coming, The Kappas Are Coming!!! Shiloh Baptist Church and its Development Academy were the recipients of Kappa Khristmas. Kappa Khristmas is an Annual Chester Alumni Social Action Program that adds to the joy and excitement of the holiday season to the students of the Shiloh Development Academy.
The Chester Alumni Chapter provided 25 CHRISTMAS Baskets to Church Members. These Baskets included Books for students of the Shiloh Development Academy.
BROTHERS IN ATTENDANCE: VP-Terrence Robertson, Keeper of Records-David Frisbey, Keeper of Exchequer-Darren Knox, Asst. Keeper of Exchequer-Castell Abner, Jr., Strategus -Richard Graham, Lt. Strategus-Floyd Butler, Judge Grover Koon, Bishop Caldwell and Social Action Chair-Kenneth A. Fennal.
The Kappa Leaguers were also in attendance.
